Thermal release of guest molecules from poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)oxide (PPO) films, exhibiting host-guest cocrystalline (CC) phases with orientation of their chain axes being preferentially parallel or perpendicular to the film plane (c(parallel to) and c(perpendicular to) orientations), is studied. TGA analyses show that, for all the considered CC PPO films, temperatures of guest release for CC films with c(parallel to) orientation are definitely higher than those for CC films with c(perpendicular to) orientation, with differences even higher than 100 degrees C. Correspondingly, DSC scans of CC films with c(perpendicular to) orientation show separated endothermic peaks of guest release and melting, while CC films with c(parallel to) orientation only exhibit one broad endothermic peak with superimposed guest release, glass transition (T-g), and melting (T-m) phenomena. This control of temperatures of guest release could be helpful to maximize the thermal stability of host-guest PPO co-crystalline phases and to tailor temperatures of active guest release.

Single-atom catalysts are emerging as primary catalysts for many reactions due to their 100% utilization of active metal centers leading to high catalytic efficiencies. Herein, we report the use of a single-atom Co catalyst for the oxidative cleavage of the -O-4 bonds of lignin model compounds at a low oxygen pressure. Under the optimized reaction conditions, the conversion of 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1-phenylethanol up to 95% with high selectivities was achieved with a variety of substrates investigated. The reusability of the Co catalyst with a high catalytic efficiency indicates its potential application in the oxidative cleavage of C-O bonds.

I found the field of Engineering; Environmental Sciences & Ecology very interesting. Saw the article Complex Mixtures of Brominated/Chlorinated Diphenyl Ethers and Dibenzofurans in Soils from the Agbogbloshie e-Waste Site (Ghana): Occurrence, Formation, and Exposure Implications published in 2019.0. HPLC of Formula: C12H10O, Reprint Addresses Kunisue, T (corresponding author), Ehime Univ, CMES, 2-5 Bunkyo Cho, Matsuyama, Ehime 7908577, Japan.. The CAS is 101-84-8. The distribution and toxic equivalents (TEQs) of brominated and chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans (PBDD/Fs and PCDD/Fs) in soils from Agbogbloshie e-waste site (Ghana) were investigated. The composition of brominated/chlorinated dibenzofurans (PXDFs) and diphenyl ethers (PBDEs, PCDEs, and PXDEs) was examined using two-dimensional gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry to elucidate possible formation pathways of dioxins from e-waste recycling. The highest concentrations of PCDD/Fs and PBDD/Fs were found, respectively, in the open burning (1.3-380 ng/g dry weight) and dismantling areas (11-1000 ng/g dry weight) and were comparable to the highest reported for informal e-waste sites. PXDFs and PXDEs were detected at up to the range of hundreds of nanograms per gram. The homologue profiles suggest that PXDFs were formed mainly from PBDFs through successive Br-to-Cl exchange. However, monobromo-PCDFs were also derived from de-novo-generated PCDFs in open burning areas. PBDFs contributed similar or higher TEQs (7.9-5400 pg/g dry weight) compared with PCDD/Fs (6.8-5200 pg/g dry weight), whereas PXDFs were also substantial TEQ contributors in open burning areas. The high TEQs of PBDFs in the dismantling area (120-5200 pg/g dry weight) indicate the need to consider brominated dioxins besides chlorinated dioxins in future studies on health implications for e-waste workers and local residents.

The relative abundances of compound classes (e.g. CHO1, CHO2 and CHNO1) in fossil fuels have been widely used in previous researches based on the data from mass spectrometry (MS). However, such observations are susceptible to the ionization bias of MS due to the variation of ionization efficiency, which may affect the downstream quantitative analysis. Many efforts have been devoted to investigating the ionization efficiencies of a variety of model compounds, but not complex and diverse mixtures. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate how quantitatively ionization bias affects the MS analysis of complex mixtures. In this study, ionization bias was preliminarily investigated by comparing the elemental compositions obtained from MS-analysis via different ionization methods with the data acquired by a standard elemental analyzer. A coal-derived liquid and mixtures of five model compounds were ionized by atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization (APCI), electrospray ionization or direct analysis in real-time, followed by analyzing using a high-resolution Orbitrap MS to obtain elemental compositions. MS-based results via APCI ion source showed the closest elemental compositions to those obtained from the elemental analyzer. For the MS-based analysis, the abundances of S-and O-containing compounds were significantly lower and that of N-containing compounds was clearly higher compared to ultimate analysis. The abundances of compound classes were adjusted to provide a closer approximation of the actual contents, which might better serve for the downstream quantitative analysis. Although absolute quantification still needs additional work, the adjusted MS-based analysis provides not only the molecular level data, but also a better quantification ability compared to previous analytical approaches.

Electrical conductivity, mechanical flexibility, and large electroactive surface areas are the most important factors in determining the performance of various flexible electrodes in energy storage devices. Herein, a layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly-induced metal electrodeposition approach is introduced to prepare a variety of highly porous 3D-current collectors with high flexibility, metallic conductivity, and large surface area. In this study, a few metal nanoparticle (NP) layers are LbL-assembled onto insulating paper for the preparation of conductive paper. Subsequent Ni electroplating of the metal NP-coated substrates reduces the sheet resistance from approximate to 10(3) to <0.1 omega sq(-1) while maintaining the porous structure of the pristine paper. Particularly, this approach is completely compatible with commercial electroplating processes, and thus can be directly extended to electroplating applications using a variety of other metals in addition to Ni. After depositing high-energy MnO NPs onto Ni-electroplated papers, the areal capacitance increases from 68 to 811 mF cm(-2) as the mass loading of MnO NPs increases from 0.16 to 4.31 mg cm(-2). When metal NPs are periodically LbL-assembled with the MnO NPs, the areal capacitance increases to 1710 mF cm(-2). HPLC of Formula: C14H14O. The coupling reactions of phenols and nitrogen hetereocycles with aryl halide were catalyzed by a highly active, readily available and easily recoverable heterogeneous Cu catalyst which was prepared by simply stirring an suspension of chitosan in solvent with copper compound. The result showed that chitosan@Cu2O catalyst catalyzed the coupling reactions of aryl halides with phenols and nitrogen hetereocycles to readily give the corresponding products in moderate to excellent yields. The highly active catalyst can be reused many times without losing its catalytic activity.

A novel and highly active zeolite Y/ZSM-5 composite zeolite (CZ)-supported nickel catalyst (Ni/CZ with 10% of Ni loading) was prepared by modified deposition-precipitation to uniformly disperse Ni nanoparticles (NNPs) onto CZ. Hecaogou subbituminous coal was exhaustively extracted with isometric carbon disulfide/acetone mixed solvent to afford the extractable portion and inextractable portion (IEP). Ethanol-soluble portion (ESP) was obtained by ethanolyzing the IEP at 300 degrees C and subjected to catalytic hydroconversion (CHC) over Ni-10%/CZ at 160 degrees C to afford catalytically hydroconverted ESP (CHCESP). Both ESP and CHCESP were analyzed with a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS), and quadrupole exactive orbitrap mass spectrometer. The results show that the relative contents (RCs) of both chain alkanes and hydroarenes in CHCESP are significantly higher than those in ESP and cyclanes and alkenes were only detected in CHCESP, while the RCs of both arenes and oxygen-containing organic compounds in CHCESP are much lower than those in ESP and nitrogen- and/or sulfur-containing organic compounds were only detected in ESP with GC/MS. According to the CHC of oxybis(methylene)dibenzene (OBMDB), Ni-10%/CZ can effectively activate H-2 to biatomic active hydrogen (H center dot center dot center dot H) and the resulting H center dot center dot center dot H was heterolytically split into an immobile H- attached on Ni/CZ and a mobile H+. H+ transfers to an oxygen atom (OA) in OBMDB and cleaves the C-O bridged bond to produce phenylmethanol (PM) and benzylium, followed by H- abstraction from the Ni/CZ surface by benzylium to form toluene. H+ transfer to the OA in PM also leads to the cleavage of the C-O bond in PM to produce H2O and benzylium, which abstracts H- from the Ni/CZ surface to yield toluene. H center dot center dot center dot H transfer to the benzene ring in toluene generates methylcyclohexane. Therefore, Ni-10%/CZ catalyzes both H+ and H center dot center dot center dot H transfer. In addition, it proved to be stable for the CHC of OBMDB after 3 cycles.

The Name is Benzyl ether. Through research, I have a further understanding and discovery of 103-50-4.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an approved modality for the treatment of various types of maligancies and diseased states. However, most of the available photosensitizers (PS) are highly hydrophobic, which limits their solubility and dispersion in biological fluids and can lead to self-quenching and sub-optimal therapeutic efficacy. In this study, chlorin e6 (Ce6)-coated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle (SPION) nanoclusters (Ce6-SCs) were prepared via an oil-in-water emulsion. The physical chemical properties of the Ce6-SCs were systematically evaluated. Dual-mode imaging and PDT was subsequently performed in tumor-bearing mice. Chlorin e6 is capable of solubilizing hydrophobic SPION into stable, water-soluble nanoclusters without the use of any additional amphiphiles or carriers. The method is reproducible and the Ce6-SCs are highly stable under physiological conditions. The Ce6-SCs have an average diameter of 92 nm and low polydispersity (average PDI < 0.2). Encapsulation efficiency of both Ce6 and SPION is approximate to 100%, and the total Ce6 payload can be as high as 56% of the total weight (Ce6 + Fe). The Ce6-SCs localize within tumors via enhanced permeability and retention and are detectable by magnetic resonance (MR) and optical imaging. With PDT, Ce6-SCs demonstrate high singlet oxygen generation and produce a significant delay in tumor growth in mice. Recommanded Product: Benzyl ether.
