The aqueous phase was extracted with ethyl acetate (3×50 mL). The combined organic extracts were washed with water and brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered. The filtrate was concentrated to get the crude residue S-I-I (15.49 g, y: 98%).
