To an ice-cooled solution of 2-methoxyethylamine (623 mg, 8.29 mmol) and triethylamine (1.50 mL, 10.8 mmol) in anhydrous DCM (50 mL) under argon was added dropwise chloroacetyl chloride (795 muL, 10.0 mmol).
