To a solution of 5-bromo-2-methoxy-phenol (67.00 g, 330.00 mmol, 1.00 eq) and 1- bromo-3-methoxy-propane (100.99 g, 660.00 mmol, 2.00 eq) in DMF (300.00 mL) was added K2C03 (136.83 g, 990.00 mmol, 3.00 eq). The mixture was stirred at 25 C for 8 h. Desired product was observed on LC-MS. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and extracted with ethyl acetate (4OmL*3). The crude product was purified by flash column (Petroleum ether/Ethyl acetate=5/1) to give 4-bromo-1-methoxy-2-(3- methoxypropoxy)benzene (90.00 g, 327.11 mmol, 99.12 % yield) as a colorless oil.
