The reaction was poured into a mixture of ice (200 g), concentrated hydrochloric acid (20 mL) and MTBE (100 mL) and the mixture was stirred and allowed to warm up to room temperature over 2 h. The oranic layer was separated, washed with brine and dried over MgSO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give 6-bromo-2,4-difluoro-3-methoxybenzaldehyde . MS: (ES) m/z calculated for C8H6BrF2O2 [M + H]+ 250.9, found 250.9.
