A rapid and quant. method for the determination of pramoxine-HCl (I) [637-58-1] by high-pressure liquid chromatog. is presented. The drug is extracted as the salt from a preparation with a high lipoid composition by partitioning it to the aqueous phase of an Et2O-MeOH-H2O-AcOH system. The extract is chromatographed on an octadecylsilane bonded packing with MeOH-H2O-AcOH-MeSO3H mobile phase. The time required for each separation is â? min. Anal. recoveries of 100.4 ± 1.5% were obtained.
