The organic superbase t-Bu-P4 catalyzes the demethylation reactions of methoxyarenes ROMe [R = 4-cyanophenyl, 1-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-5-yl, 1-benzothiophen-5-yl, etc.] in the presence of alkanethiol and hexamethyldisilazane was reported.
