Copper nitride(Cu3N) was used as a heterogeneous catalyst for the hydroxylation of aryl halides RX (R = 4-methoxyphenyl, Ph, 1-naphthyl, pyridin-3-yl, etc.; X = I, Br, Cl) under ligand-free conditions.
