Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and alternative halogenated flame retardants (AHFRs) were measured in eleven mollusk species collected from the Chinese Bohai Sea. PBDEs and AHFRs were detected in all species, and their average total concentrations were in the range of 22.5-355 and 10.0-84.3 ng/g lipid weight, respectively. Decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-209) and decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE) were the dominant halogenated flame retardants (HFRs), contributing 22.5% to 73.6% and 3.1% to 38.3% of the total HFRs, respectively. The levels of PBDEs and AHFRs were moderate to high from a global perspective. Interspecific differences in the accumulation of PBDEs and AHFRs were characterized by heat map and cluster analysis. Composition profile differences were also observed, with higher proportions of AHFRs in gastropods than in bivalves. These species-specific differences in concentrations and profiles in mollusks were attributed to different species traits, including feeding habit, trophic level, and metabolic potential.

Fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) is one of the most studied and established materials for transparent electrode applications. However, the syntheses for FTO nanocrystals are currently very limited, especially for stable and well-dispersed colloids. Here, we present the synthesis and detailed characterization of FTO nanocrystals using a colloidal heat-up reaction. High-quality SnO2 quantum dots are synthesized with a tuneable fluorine amount up to similar to 10% atomic, and their structural, morphological and optical properties are fully characterized. These colloids show composition-dependent optical properties, including the rise of a dopant-induced surface plasmon resonance in the near infrared.

We report the synthesis, characterization, and spectroscopic investigations of a new responsive-at-metal cyclometalated platinum(II) complex. With mild chemical oxidants and reductants, it was possible to obtain the same complex in three different oxidation states and each of these complexes was structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. We discovered that the platinum(II) complex displays strong solvatochromism in the solid state, which can be attributed to modulation of Pt…Pt interactions that results in switching between optical and photoluminescent states. Incorporating responsive-at-metal species as dynamic components in nanostructured materials might facilitate response amplification, sensing, actuation, or self-healing processes.

In this study, a well-defined, novel NHC-Ni complex was developed and used to catalyze the N-arylation of alkyl- and arylamines with arylboronic acids in a rare version of Chan-Lam coupling. Although the same coupling using copper catalysts has been widely studied, the nickel-catalyzed version is rare and normally requires 10-20 mol% catalyst loading. This novel NHC-Ni complex in combination with 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine, however, proved to be an effective catalyst that lowered the required catalyst loading to only 2.0 mol%. Simple exploration of C14H14O

Formula: C14H14O. About Benzyl ether, If you have any questions, you can contact Gambe, J; Jouin, J; Remondiere, F; Thomas, P; Masson, O or concate me.

Formula: C14H14O. Recently I am researching about SOLVOTHERMAL SYNTHESIS; SIZE DEPENDENCE; ZIRCONIA; TEMPERATURE; STABILIZATION; NANOCRYSTALS, Saw an article supported by the . This work deals with the synthesis of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) nanoparticles (NPs) in different solvents and their structural characterization for better understanding the oxygen donor solvent/zirconium precursor/NPs structure relationships. By selecting solvents over their capacity to produce different crystalline states from alkalinized zirconium alkoxide, spherical nanoparticles with a size of about 1.3-3 nm and a narrow size distribution were elaborated using a nonaqueous solvothermal sol-gel route. Conventional X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to determine the average structure and crystallite size of the nanoparticles. Well-crystallized and single-phased nanoparticles with average monoclinic and tetragonal structure were obtained with benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol, respectively, and a much distorted structure was observed for the synthesis in anisole. The atomic pair distribution functions (PDF) of the samples were also analyzed to access the local structure of the nanoparticles. The PDF of the benzaldehyde-prepared sample is consistent with the monoclinic structure. However, the local structure of nanoparticles synthesized with benzyl alcohol does not fully conform to the tetragonal structure observed by XRD, but exhibits monoclinic-like distortions. Lastly, the anisole-prepared nanoparticles present large structural distortions at the medium range and monoclinic local structural features. The restructuring of this last sample was studied by post-treatments in different solvents and leads to the expression of the tetragonal polymorph. Moreover, it seems that the main structural features are obtained in the early stages of the nanoparticles’ formation.

The Name is Benzyl ether. Through research, I have a further understanding and discovery of 103-50-4.

The stability of a and beta nanoporous-crystalline (NC) forms of Poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene) oxide (PPO), in the presence of guest molecules leading to crystallization in a and beta-form (alpha and beta-guests), is explored. Sorption of liquid guests at 30 degrees C and 60 degrees C is studied both for NC films and NC aerogels. WAXD and FTIR characterizations show that, for all considered conditions, NC alpha-phases after guest sorption/desorption remain unaltered. NC beta-phases, on the contrary, after alpha-guest sorption can be transformed in co-crystalline (CC) alpha-phases that after guest desorption are transformed in NC alpha-phases. All conducted experiments also show that possible planar orientations of NC films (c//or c perpendicular to orientations) remain essentially unaltered, after sorption of all considered guest molecules. The presently discovered beta ->alpha transition constitutes a route to obtain unoriented alpha-form films, which till now were not available by known preparation procedures.

We present the synthesis of lanthanum nitrate nanoparticles via the polyol method. A crystallographic study of La(NO3)(3)center dot 4H(2)O nanoparticles was carried out using the Rietveld method and XRD to detect the phases of the yield: alpha (monoclinic) and beta (orthorhombic) phases were obtained. Thermogravimetric analysis showed a unique dehydration process in the 65 degrees C-245 degrees C temperature range and a dehydroxylation phase in the 333 degrees C-558 degrees C temperature range. Using TEM-EDX, and DLS, the purity of the material was evaluated; a spherical shape morphology and monodispersity were observed. The absorbance at 1340-1440 cm(-1) and 1500-1600 cm(-1) (IR regions) of the lanthanum nanoparticles was deconvolved to increase the resolution of the chemical imprint in these regions.

Development of new superparamagnetic materials with narrow size distribution is crucial for biomedical and environmental applications. Hence, we report the synthesis of narrow size distributed single grain MnFe(2)O(4)nanoparticles of average particle size 9 nm by solvothermal reflux method. Synthesized compound crystallized in face centered cubic spinel structure and is confirmed by X-ray diffraction profiles. Transmission electron micrograph shows narrow size distributed particles with an average particle size of 9 nm and is equal to crystallite diameter estimated from Scherrer equation. The spinel crystal structure is further confirmed by electron diffraction profiles, Fourier transformed infrared spectrum, and Raman spectrum at room temperature. Magnetic properties of the sample show superparamagnetic nature at room temperature with moderate saturated magnetization of 56.4 emug(-1). Magnetic heating properties of nanoparticles dispersion show the attainment of hyperthermia temperature (43 degrees C) in a short span of time of 1.6 min for 2 mg/mL and 2.6 min for 1 mg/mL concentrations. Estimated specific heat generation rate or specific power absorption rate, from temporal temperature plots, is 145.78 Wg(-1)and is useful for magnetic hyperthermia application in cancer therapy. Photocatalysis properties of sample show 96% of rhodamine B dye degradation in little less than 6 h under UV light irradiation and are useful for photocatalytic applications in wastewater treatment in industries.

A total of 11 bacterial strains capable of completely degrading 2-butoxyethanol (2-BE) were isolated from forest soil, a biotrickling filter, a bioscrubber, and activated sludge, and identified by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Eight of these strains belong to the genus Pseudomonas; the remaining three strains are Hydrogenophaga pseudoflava BOE3, Gordonia terrae BOE5, and Cupriavidus oxalaticus BOE300. In addition to 2-BE, all isolated strains were able to grow on 2-ethoxyethanol and 2-propoxyethanol, ethanol, n-hexanol, ethyl acetate, 2-butoxyacetic acid (2-BAA), glyoxylic acid, and n-butanol. Apart from the only gram-positive strain isolated, BOE5, none of the strains were able to grow on the nonpolar ethers diethyl ether, di-n-butyl ether, n-butyl vinyl ether, and dibenzyl ether, as well as on 1-butoxy-2-propanol. Strains H. pseudoflava BOE3 and two of the isolated pseudomonads, Pseudomonas putida BOE100 and P. vancouverensis BOE200, were studied in more detail. The maximum growth rates of strains BOE3, BOE100, and BOE200 at 30 degrees C were 0.204 h(-1) at 4 mM, 0.645 h(-1) at 5 mM, and 0.395 h(-1) at 6 mM 2-BE, respectively. 2-BAA, n-butanol, and butanoic acid were detected as potential metabolites during the degradation of 2-BE. These findings indicate that the degradation of 2-BE by the isolated gram-negative strains proceeds via oxidation to 2-BAA with subsequent cleavage of the ether bond yielding glyoxylate and n-butanol. Since Gordonia terrae BOE5 was the only strain able to degrade nonpolar ethers like diethyl ether, the degradation pathway of 2-BE may be different for this strain.
