The resulting grey powder was recovered by filtration, washed with cold water, and dried under high vacuum to give 4 (yield 1.3 g, 88%). 1H NMR (D2O): 2.79 (s, 2H), 2.81 (s, 6H), 3.99 (t, J =5.4 Hz, 1H).
