The reaction mixture was heated at reflux for 5 h. The resulting mixture was diluted with water (20 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (15 mL) three times. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo. The crude was purified by column chromatography with methanol/dichloromethane (100:1, v/v) to give the title compound as a colorless liquid or a white solid.
