The resulting mixture is heated to [100¡ãC] for 30 minutes, cooled to room temperature, and partitioned between [H20/CH2C12.] The aqueous layer is extracted with [CH2C12] and combined organic extracts were dried over [NA2S04.] The solvent is removed under reduced pressure and the resulting residue is purified by flash chromatography [(1] : 4 EtOAc/hexanes) to yield 3.
